Q: What is T-Ball, JR Rookie and Senior Rookie?
A: T-Ball Division
Tee ball all is the introductory level to teach all five fundamentals of baseball…hitting, throwing, catching, fielding and running for the young player ages 4 and 5 in a safe and fun environment.
Tee ball is played with a “soft” ball, a Tee, a glove and an aluminum tee ball bat. All players are constantly rotated between all positions and will experience every part of the game. It’s exciting, it’s fun, everyone hits every inning, and the kids really learn the game of baseball properly and safely.
Jr. Rookie Ball
The primary focus of Jr. Rookie ball is to teach children, coaches and parents the fundamentals of baseball. The division is comprised of players ages 6 and 7. Jr. Rookie ball is a semi-competitive skills development program and designed for the kids to have fun while learning the game of baseball. They begin to learn how to hit a soft rubber ball that is pitched to them by the hitting team’s coach and play all positions. Players will be hitting soft rubber balls pitched to them by the hitting team’s coach. All players on the defensive team play in the field at the same time and every player hits every inning.
Sr. Rookie ball
Sr. Rookie Ball is the next level of baseball development, where standings are kept. The division is composed of players ages 8 and 9. Prior to the season, there is a player evaluation so balanced teams can be formed based on the assessments. At this level the games begin to conform to baseball with one exception, except that there a pitching machine is used. The balls for this division are regular baseballs. The defensive team places 10 players in the field where the rules of fair play are followed. Game scores and standings are recorded.
